Lauren believes that to be an effective leader, people have to believe in you, trust your judgement, and see you as a genuine person with strengths and shortcomings. It takes confidence and perseverance to build that kind of relationship.

Lauren has enjoyed a long career spanning call center management, auto lending, and spent over a decade working with renowned hospital physician groups, Fortune 500, major accounting and law firms, screen and sports figures - at first lending private bank clients mortgage loans, then securing exclusive agreements to a regional marketing and training officer. She is versed in im speaking, event planning, small business consulting, nonprofit project management and consulting, sat on boards of directors and raised 2 amazing boys with disabilities.

“I have been navigating our education system since 1997 when told by our son’s preschool teacher there was something wrong and we needed testing for our 4 ½ yr. old who was socially advanced, had the sweetest disposition and could already read and write”.  Another parent helped her navigate and ever since she has been parenting it forward. Since then, she been involved in special education, the US Department of education office of civil rights, accommodations through post graduate school and has worked with three separate sets of State laws.

In 2006 Lauren added healthcare to her parent navigation skill set when her youngest was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease at age 11 in the Emergency Room, having just relocated the family 5 states away from anyone they knew, to a state with no Major Hospital Center. “Two weeks later, my cousin crafted a 3-paragraph synopsis from 6 inches of paperwork at 2:00 am, and we immediately had an appointment with a pediatric renowned specialist in NYC”.

Lauren helped organize and facilitate the first pediatric and adult mixed support group and walk in Richmond VA., for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. She helps others advocate and navigate nationwide, no matter what healthcare or education need, through word of mouth.

“I never end a customer care conversation until I ask them to tell me something I most likely would not know, and sometimes I just call to get their take on a situation. Try it!” - LAUREN
